The Schrade Backdraft Axe, from the Schrade Delta class, is a Fulltang construction. This means that it is made from a single piece of steel, with the blade going full thickness into the handle. This construction makes the axe heavier, but durable and almost indestructible. The holes and notches in the top of the axe were designed to pry and pull.
The high quality blade is made of extremely strong 3CR13 stainless steel. This steel, due to its high carbon content, has properties such as high strength, hardness, durability and good sharpenability. The blade is strong enough to handle even very strong impacts, yet it sharpens well and is easy to sharpen. The handle grips are made of G10 material and have a non-slip texture to ensure a firm grip.
Included is a blade cap made of very strong and durable 1680D polyester.
